Bon Jovi, Prince William, and Taylor Swift come together to perform “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
During the Centrepoint Gala Dinner at Kensington Palace in 2013, Jon Bon Jovi delivered a short performance, teasing a special collaboration while kicking off his band’s hit “Livin’ on a Prayer.” He playfully called for the “karaoke kid” to join in, unveiling that this was actually Prince William, an advocate for the homeless through Centrepoint.
With Bon Jovi leading, Prince William and Taylor Swift provided backing vocals. Initially timid, Prince William gained confidence with a little nudge from Swift, eventually singing with ease beside the renowned singer. The trio wrapped up their performance with a dignified exit from the stage.
Reflecting on the event, Prince William expressed how this experience uplifted his confidence. He admitted to being nervous at first but credited Swift for her encouragement. Despite forgetting some lyrics, he found value in the experience, learning the lesson of embracing one’s imperfections.
Since its debut in 1986 and climbing to the top of the US Billboard chart, Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” has remained a beloved track, amassing over 1.1 billion views on YouTube. The unique performance at Kensington Palace lent a regal flair to the song, affirming its timeless charm.
